Frequently asked questions

For further information about blognation please read the FAQ below which explains more about who we are and our plans for the future.

What’s blognation?
Blognation is a network of professional bloggers brought together to report on the latest Web 2.0 technology, mobile and enterprise start-ups from around the world, but only written in English.

When are you launching?
July 1st, 2007 saw the launch of blognation. The other countries covered by blognation will follow in due course over the summer.

What’s blognation’s goal?
We want to become one of the first sites that technology-enthusiasts, bloggers, early adopters, fellow entrepreneurs and investors visit to find daily updates on Web 2.0 technology, mobile and enterprise news from all over the world. The English-speaking part of the world is language-challenged: there are many excellent blogs in Spanish or German about Web 2.0 start-ups, but if you don’t read these languages, you’re stuck. We believe blognation solves that problem by offering news about those start-ups only in English.

What can we expect from blognation?
Expect news about new players in the Web 2.0 arena, launches and features, interviews, in-depth articles, serial posts, live event coverage through (micro-)blogging, photos, podcasts, screencasts; a company profile index, lists of global technology events and a job board. Expect us to attend local Web 2.0 conferences and meet-ups.

Who’s behind blognation?
blognation was founded by entrepologist Sam Sethi.

What is the business model behind blognation?
blognation is backed by undisclosed venture capital funding, by vendor advertising and through affiliate advertising.

How many bloggers are currently working for blognation?
At this moment blognation is formed by an ambitious, global team of 20+ editors.

Which countries are covered by blognation?
blognation currently has editors covering these regions: United Kingdom, Belgium/Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, Ireland, USA, Canada, Japan and India.

We are currently negotiating with prospective editors from Israel, Netherlands, Iceland, France, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, South-East Asia, Poland, Turkey and Greece.

Where can I find more information about blognation?
We are working on a press kit and will make a link to that available here as soon as it’s ready.

How can I get blognation to write about my start-up?
Please send details about your start-up, including the country where you reside, either directly to the editors at blognation listed below or fill in the contact us form.
